About
Jonathan Michael Kay
I have spent two decades on both the agency side and inside Fortune 100 communications operations. I’ve worked in global health, scientific communications, and institutional storytelling, and learned that every expert, breakthrough, and crisis contains a human story worth telling.
My background is unusual. I started in neuropsychological research at Boston University, studying how the brain processes information and forms understanding. That foundation shapes everything I produce. When you understand how people think, you can build narratives that resonate at a deeper level.
Inside AstraZeneca, I executive-produced an award-winning documentary and created a video series seen by 375,000 people. Across earlier roles at Edelman in New York and Singapore, and at the agency now called Inizio Evoke in Los Angeles, I built communications operations across four continents and served as narrative advisor to C-suite leaders at some of the world’s largest health and life-sciences organizations. I work best with teams doing complex, high-stakes work who struggle to communicate why it matters.
Now independent as J. M. Kay — working with operating executives on transitions, founding moments, and unfamiliar narrative ground.
